Motivate. Inspire.
Evolve.

In the age of climate crisis, architectural education must respond to environmental challenges on the micro and macro scale. As designers, we carry the responsibility to plan ahead and understand architecture as a process, not an object.

Advanced Design Studio.
> Master Entwerfen.

Advanced Design Studio focuses on architecture as part of the urban ecosystem. Students develop complex architectural interventions on various scales utilizing urban analysis tools and digital design methods to generate, fabricate, and represent spatial concepts and strategies.

Foundational Design Studio.
> Grundlagen des Entwurfs.

Foundation Studios focus on disciplinary principles of contemporary architecture, design, drawing, modeling, fabrication, and visual and verbal (re-)presentation. Students develop spatial design skills and apply digital tools to understand the architectural object as an integral part of its contextual conditions.

Spatial Design.
> Raumgestaltung.

Raumgestaltung (Spatial Design) focuses on the spatial regimes that (in)form the built environment in the Epoch of the Anthropocene. Students explore the (inter)actions between natural, cultural, and built landscapes and apply digital tools of spatial analysis and (re)presentation.

> Architektur und Städtebau Theorie.

territorial_strategies.jpg

Territorial Strategies.
> Territoriale Strategien.

Territorial Strategies focuses on climate adaptation of the built environment on the territorial scale. Students investigate the built environment as a complex system on the macro and micro scale. They apply digital methods of spatial design and mapping utilizing analytical, representational, and generative tools.

LFU Innsbruck | UT Arlington

future_cities.jpg

Future Cities.
> Städte der Zukunft.

Future Cities focuses on climate adaptation of the built environment on the urban scale.

Students explore emerging architectural and infrastructural concepts and their interrelations to the urban ecosystem. They apply a participatory mixed-methods approach utilizing analytical, representational, and generative tools.

Adaptive Typologies.
> Adaptive Typologien.

Adaptive Typologies focuses on climate adaptation of the built environment on the architectural object scale. Students analyze, transform, and develop hybrid typologies merging physical, digital, and biological approaches. They apply a digital mixed-methods approach utilizing analytical, representational, and generative tools.

Design Communications.
> Gestaltung + Kommunikation.

Design Communications provide an overview of various digital media to represent spatial concepts and design strategies. Students explore tools of visual and verbal (re)presentation targeting both technical accuracy and artistic expression.
